Classic dominoes game with a twist - musical notes and symbols instead of numbers.

Invented in 1893, these were an instant hit with society hostesses holding musical dominoes parties for cultured guests.

Perfect for teaching musical theory too!

Although it is played in the same fashion as regular dominoes the ‘numbers’ are determined by the common time values of the notes and rests shown on the dominoes. For example, a Semibreve is considered to be 4 whilst a Crotchet Triplet = 2 and a Treble Clef is equivalent to a blank.

The idea is that each player will learn the common time value of the musical notes involved. If you are not already familiar with the values, don’t worry: a full set of instructions is given.

Set of 28 quality domino tiles with musical notation and instructions

This set of dominoes has only the musical notes. The other side is blank - nice heavy bakelite tiles.

Presented in a smart black & silver box
